Daddy Daughter Date

Bill decided it was time to start some Daddy Daughter Dates. Friday night, he decided that he'd take Madi on a date to go get some ice cream. Madi was so excited that she was going on a date. She knew that when Mom would go on a date, mom would put pretty make up on and get all cute ( I know I should do that everyday, but sometimes I just don't have time :) ) So It was just about time for Daddy to come home and Madi went and grabbed a dress she wanted to wear on her date. I put her dress on and had to tend to Lily for a moment. Madi came out with pretty lip stick on!!! Just on her top lip, then she had me do the bottom. How nice of her! We decided to get her all dolled up for the date!! Bill loved it and thought she just looked as cute as ever! They ended up going to the farmhouse and shared an Apple pie Ala mode! How cute did they ever look!!! (getting her all dressed up made me so excited for the time when I get to get her all dressed up for little dance rehearsals and stuff!! One more year!!!YEAH )

Summer Fun, Races, & another ER visit!

Finally this crazy weather is what it is suppose to be!!! Warm Warm Warm...101 today! Very hot.
Bill is not liking how it went from 60 degrees to very windy and all of a sudden HOT! Really, who blames him? I don't want to be on a roof or framing up a house 8 hours during the day in the heat without much of a break!! Poor husband! I'm very grateful for him and the hard work he endures providing for our family!

Well, I guess this time of year, all the little towns in Magic Valley have there own little celebration that highlights what there town is known for (or something like that..I've come up with that myself....) In my last post, I talked about how we attended Wendell's Dairy Days. Well, last Saturday, we attended a portion of Filer Fun Days! We took our kids to the Demolition Derby. The whole point of going was mostly to let Riley participate in an event they had before the demolition. They had a tricycle race for the kids...Riley was in the heat for the 4-6 year olds. Whoever one would win a new bike! I'm so mad at myself for not taking my camera!! Duh!! Well we got there and signed Riley up and took his Tricycle to the arena. He was so excited to do this. Anyway after the second heat of the derby the tricycle race took place. I think there were probably 7 little kids in his heat. They didn't care how you got to the finish line as long as you were sitting on the seat of your bike. Well Riley decided instead of pedaling, he would just push like the flinstones. That was working quite well for him as he was in FIRST PLACE. He got going so fast that he ran over his foot and stumbled and fumbled and looked back cuz he new he wasn't going to win and decided to pedal to the finish line. He took third place in the race and won a free sundae at sonic! Woohoo. I really thought he would pout if he didn't win (that's kinda why I wanted to put him in it...to teach him you can have fun even if you don't win.) He was just excited to see all the people watching and cheering and he was just soaking it all in.
(Riley and his fast hot wheel that he raced)
Bill, the nice husband and daddy that he is, was helping me get the kids to bed the other day. His job was getting Madi in her princess jammies. She was not liking the idea to much and decided to throw some tantrums (wonder where she got that from???) Daddy was holding her arms trying to get them in her pj's and low and behold....she started crying and crying....holding her wrist saying, " don't move my arm, don't move my arm". Now this happened in the evening again and led to another ER VISIT!!! GRRRR!! I thought maybe she fractured her wrist or something because she was holding her wrist and not her arm. We got there and sure enough, she wad dislocated AGAIN! But this was the opposite arm from last time. Poor Daddy was feeling aweful again. I wonder if this has to do with her hip displacia in some sort of a way...like her joints are just extremely lose or something...Don't know, guess that's a question for her doc.

MAJOR DILEMMA

So I have been awful at posting ANYTHING lately.....I will sit at my computer with my memory card in the computer ready and amped to upload pics and update on life. When I log on to my blog, I just look at how blah and have attempted many times to change my backgrounds. How in the world do you get the cute heading up top with the cute font??!!! So much has happened that I just toughed it up and here I am....where to start????

So my husband is feeling old lately. He had his 10 year class reunion the first of June. We had dinner on Friday night (very interesting group there....no kids and let's just say, some pretty soda ;) It was a good time and Bill enjoyed seeing people he hadn't seen for quite some time. Then on Saturday, it was a family event (that meant no fun drinks...however I'm not sure if all abided by the rule) Bill took all three kids and stayed for awhile chatting with Chad and later invited Chad and his family over for a pizza party. Where was I you are asking???? MIA!

That's right!!! I attended a much needed girls weekend in VEGAS!!!! I flew from Boise to Vegas all by myself! (Those of you that know how bad I hate planes and flying know that I must have been a "big girl" to do it all by myself.) I had a ton of fun. Our trip consisted of the funnest bus ride I've ever had in my life, Irish Kings sweeping us off our feet, yummy food, laughs that brought tears, tattoos and last but not least, a swimsuit photo shoot! (However, pics of the photo shoot will not be posted due to fear of prosecution.) We had a great ole time there in Vegas and I'm so glad that we could all be there...(well minus two naughty girls).

HOWEVER!!!!! There was something that happened there that still to this moment TICKS me right off! Okay, you tell me how ticked you'd be.....My mother, Andrea, Mallory, Lindsay and Natalie got to Vegas the night before me and had a gay time catching up with each other and such and such, (I stayed for Bill's Class dinner) Anyhow, I didn't want to miss out on all the fun so I took a red eye flight to Vegas so the girls had to pick me up at the airport around 7:30 ish. My mom, Andrea, and Natalie came to pick me up.... So we get back to the Condo and hang around a bit and decide to go get breakfast at IHOP. I actually recall commenting on Andrea's cute shirt as she was getting ready. Well sitting down in our booth, there was a bunch of giggling and of course I just giggled along with them, until Andrea says, "By the way, I haven't just gained a whole bunch of weight." WHAT!!!! "IHOP" ed (sorry I had to.) out of my seat and said...well, yelled "YOU'RE PREGNANT!!!" That little fart! I was the last one to know and still bothered by the fact!!! But after a few years of asking when they were gonna have another kid, we all finally gave up, so what a HUGE surprise!!! A BABY GIRL!!!! I am so excited because it's actually MY FIRST NIECE!!!!!! We are still waiting for a girl on Billy's side but that has yet to happen. So Vegas was a great fun time for all.

Father's Day came really fast for us.....It was nice and peaceful. Riley was so excited to go up in Sacrament Meeting and sing to his Daddy....Madisen even followed even though she's not in Primary yet....She got a little frightened and started crying running down the stairs into her daddy's arms...It was so cute.
For Father's Day, we took Bill's 67 Mustang in to get it running...and he is patiently waiting it to be sitting at our house instead of the shop.

This next update is ESPECIALLY for RICH!!!!
In Wendell we have a celebration that is all about the stinky wind we have here caused by all the Dairy's....Hence the celebration name : Dairy Days.
There is a parade on Saturday morning and at the park there is a carnival that goes on for 2 days. Well, feeling very festive this year....they decided to do something a little different, Something that's never been done here in good old Wendell.
COW PATTY BINGO!!! They make a big bingo card on the ground out of paint or chalk and set up a Carrall around it... You pay 10 dollars for you to claim a number on the Bingo card.... After all the numbers are claimed....they send a cow into the carrall and ...you ready for this.......
The first number that the cow takes a crap on....wins $500 DOLLARS!!!! You'd be surprised at how many people sit there and watch this cow yelling and coaching it to poo on there space!!!! HAHA it was the funniest thing!!! Bet you really wished you were here for that one Rich huh!

As far as the kids go.....Riley has made a couple new friends that he just loves to play with. He starts swimming lessons on the 30th for 2 weeks. And this weekend, there is a demolition derby we are going to and before the event....they are having a tricycle race for little kids...whoever wins receives a new bike...We thought Riley would love to be in a race....we'll just see how he reacts if he doesn't win...
Madi is accident prone....I've always said that we are going to be dealing with stitches or a broken bone with her before Riley.. Well on Saturday the 21st Bill had her on his shoulder taking her to the bathroom to brush her teeth. He lifted her up and was lowering her down by her arms behind is back, and when she reached the floor, she started screaming and saying don't bend my arm! Don't bend my arm!! He had to hold it across her chest or she'd start crying again....Bill held her in the chair until she eventually closed her eyes, but anytime we'd move, she'd start crying again.....so being the paranoid mother that I am....decided to take her in...of course it always happens after hours, so it was an ER visit...and the fastest ER visit I've ever had!!! Maybe 15 min..... Anyway, her elbow was dislocated but with a little bend and tweak, it was all better...They call it Nurse Maids Elbow????
Lily has taken on a couple new things....She sits up all by herself....AND she army crawls!! But with only one leg! It's the funniest thing I've ever seen...it's hard to explain so I'll just get a video of it and post it....
Bill is staying busy with work which is always a blessing.... and I'm just trying to keep things in order in our home waiting for a bite! Our home is officially on the market, so we hope it'll go sooner than later....We'll see.

Swimming, Camping & Smiles

Last weekend, it was the Father Son Outing down at Sligers Campground. Bill took Riley down and they had a grand ol' time. They took some rice crispy treats down and stayed up really late. When they got home, they both were exhausted and I didn't really find out why they were so tired. Bill disappeared with Riley as I continued my cleaning spree and as I walked into his room to put his clothes away...this is what I walked in on......
After their "nap" I was informed that Bill and Sherm took Riley out for a late night hunt. They went spotlighting and actually shot a badger. Riley was quite descriptive of what the badger looked like....sharp teeth, small back legs and big front legs and hairy and bloody... OOOHHH I don't like badgers...they are ugly and they scare me....not my idea of fun. :)
The following Monday, Madi and I were in side playing when daddy got home. He hadn't come in the house yet so I ran outside to see what he was doing. I was only outside for a few minutes and walked in on this.....
NO! She's not hiding from me....she had fallen asleep while "digging" for a Mike n Ike! She's my little munchkin....some days she's 6 and other days she is 4.....(It's more like 2.5 going on 16.)AAHHHH She is getting big SOO Fast!

I know there are A LOT of pictures of Lily this time.....but a baby's grin is just priceless......

Okay....to answer your questions......
No, this is not lipstick!!! But it IS my raspberry cream filled doughnut!!!She loved it!

Here is our Slide show of our family night at Sligers Swimming Pool. (It is an indoor pool that is actually a natural hot spring that they have to run cool water in because it is so HOT!
(you have to click on each picture to view them...enjoy)

Lily's 6 months

May 6th
I meant to do this along time ago!!!!!
HAPPY SIX MONTHS LILY!
You weighed 6 lbs 7 oz. Lily in the short time you've been in our family, you've taught and brought us so much! You've taught us to love more. When you were born, it was a scary thing for mommy and daddy. We weren't sure what was happening at the hospital, they didn't think you were coming yet but I knew for sure you were going to come to us a lot sooner then they thought. What a blessing it was that you were born early, as the doctors said that you must have been a little ballerina because your umbilical cord was twisted up so much that you were barely getting the blood and nutrition that you needed to thrive! That's why you needed the little TLC at the NICU a few days later, because you were just not nourished enough a little before you were born. You dropped down from 6 lbs 7 oz to 5 lbs 11oz. We are so grateful that you were brought into our family 3 weeks early for the doctors didn't know what the outcome would've been if you would've waited the full term. We know why you came...and we know Heavenly Father told you it was time, because he knew you were tired and hungry..and couldn't wait any longer. :) We hugged and held you so much...it was so sad for me to see you in the NICU hooked up to so many things and under a heater with an i.v. in your little wrist with a tube going down your nose. Mommy was so scared and nervous about you being there, that I FORGOT!!! to take any pictures of you there. Your second arrival at our house, was much better. You taught us patience. You taught us humility and you have just the sweetest little spirit.
1 month old - You have started smiling and just gazing into our eyes...and what a good little girl you've been to sleeping through the night. You are very content and never ever cry, not even when you are hungry. You found your thumb!
2 months old - You are more alert and love to be held by Riley and Madi. Still being a good girl and sleeping all night... Daddy loves to snuggle up to you when he gets home from work. You LOVE to suck on your little thumb!
3 months old - you are grabbing onto things and study them very carefully. You LOVE your baths. You are starting to get a little more hungry and just aren't quite satisfied with nursing. Love your thumb more than ever!
4 months old - WooHoo You are rolling over both ways!!! You have also found your toes! You have the sweetest voice and are gooing all the time. Still LOVING the thumb!
5 months old - Yes I have to tell you this!!! Mommy got up in the middle of the night to feed you and set you on the bed while I reached over to move your big sister...and kerblop!!! You fell to the floor off my bed!!! So sorry....I bawled for a long time after that...and you and your sweet little spirit let me know that it startled you and as soon as picked you up, you stopped crying. You are still very hungry and mommy has fed you some bananas...you really like them. You still roll all over the place. You hand things back and forth from one hand to the other...and study them carefully....and you are such a gabber!!! Typical girl! :) In church, everyone loves to hold you!!! They say how beautiful you are and that you are the sweetest little thing and what a good baby you are...You let them hold you and never cry! That's right..Still LOVING your thumb!
6 months old - You have know started to eat solids and LOVE THEM! You eat green beans, squash, bananas, applesauce, peaches and eeewweee you like prunes!!! You absolutely do NOT like peas....and your little tummy can't tolerate the sweet potatoes!! You throw them up every time! You are scooting on your tummy...and reaching oh so very far to grab things you want..You roll and arch your little back to grab the things you want...Very determined little thing. You love rattles and shake them crazy, you love to let Riley and Madi hold you, you love to try to get Roxy to come over to you, you love to pick at the grass, you love to be rocked to sleep, and you love to smile!!!And I bet you can guess this one.....um..yup..still LOVE your thumb!
We love you so much lil Lily Bug and are so grateful you chose us to be your parents!!!

Updates, Updates, and More Updates!

(I'm still adding to this post so keep expecting more!!! It just takes me a little longer cuz I have quite a few interruptions!)
It's about time I do this.....but I lose all motivation when I look at my blog! I don't like my template anymore but when I try to change it, I lose all my widgets on the side!!!! Anyone know how to do it without losing all the STUFF? I want the cute fonts too on my header, but have yet to figure it out. Also, I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get a video on this....I use my digital camera for my videos and when I stick the card into my modem, it plays it for me, but anywhere I try to open it, it says i.e. p1021.mov (mov means movie)...anyway that was boring, so here is the update on the King clan.

May 10th
We went and picked up our new puppie.....she is so stinkin cute! We couldn't wait until Mother's Day (yes one day...I know) to go get her so we left on Saturday and picked her up. We went to Jerome to get her and stopped to fill up with gas. While getting gas, this rather NICE couple came up to our car (they saw Roxy) and awe-ing and ooh-ing (sp..??) at her then the nice gal asked if we had a collar for her..we responded "not yet, we just picked her up"...then the nice guy hyped up and said "you better go get it for them".. She ran over to her car and brought us over a ...um... very vibrant tye dye collar for her...Very nice couple and very random...Why can't we have people around us like that anywhere we go...(not for the giving away of things...just the niceness..(Is that a word) it sure makes for a good day and for you to respond to other people that way).... then had to go to Twin so Bill could go pick up a scope from Sportsman's for his gun. So we had quite a long drive for a brand new lil pup. When we arrived home...Bill had the dog on his lap and she started to do some weird gurgling noise....and he threw her to me cuz he thought she was gonna poo....anyway, right when she landed on the towel I had for her..she barfed!!! That was the nastiest smellin thing I've ever had land on me!!! I started to dry heave...ooh (AHH I am dry heaving just thinking of it.! That's how nasty it was.) Anyhoo...She just got car sick and was a little home sick. (we think).
Riley and Madisen LOVE HER! Poor dog, Madi treats her like her baby dolls...she tries to carry her everywhere and makes her lay down, and tries to put her in things... Riley just loves having a doggy friend around again. Even Lily got excited about her. She'd try to grab for her and kick her legs like crazy and flail her arms out of control to try to get her.

May 11th - AKA "Mother's Day"
To make a long story short, it wasn't a very good day besides Riley singing for me in Sacrament Meeting....Bill had "disappeared" for 9 hours and no one knew where he was.....I'll share just a bit of the story...I was in the bathtub and here Lily gagging on something....I get out of the tub and she's eating a green piece of paper that Bill had given her to play with......The outcome.....(beware, this is for no one with a faint tummy)
Told ya!!! The next day, I COULD NOT figure out what was in her diaper!!! Sure enough though....green paper!
(Bill had gone off trying out his newly cleaned gun and had fallen asleep on the side of a dirt road!)

May 16th
We traveled down to Logan to go visit Grandpa David and Gramma Mary. Grandpa had invited Bill and Riley to go to his Father Son outing up Porcupine Canyon. Riley had "a lot of friends" up there and had a blast! Bill hung out with the other Dad's and had an enjoyable time. I believe I got the better end of the deal however (even though the camp out was fun). We hung out that evening and watched Enchanted (was that the name Mary?) and had lot's of goodies! Then Mal decided to come up and go shopping and eating with me!!! The kids had so much fun playing with the Rachel, Katie & Mikaylie and the pup)

Memorial Day Weekend
On Saturday. Bill and Riley went with the rest of his family which included Roger, Merri Ann, Tracee, Uncle Ralph, Aunt Sandra, Tyler, Kyle and Nelson down to Bruneau Canyon for some four bying. (It was way to rough and long for the two little girls to go, so I stayed with them) Riley and Bill got to ride the long journey in Nelsons Jeep and then got to go for a ride on the four wheeler when they got in the canyon. Bill said the road going down in was "pretty crazy". They planned on staying longer but got rained out. Pour Nelson had to ride in his Jeep all alone on the way home and he was soaking wet. On Monday we told Riley and Madi we'd take them swimming at Slaggers in door natural hot springs pool. We did a little house work that morning and went to the farmhouse for Lunch..yuummyy...and headed to the pool. When we got there, the sign said they were closing in an hour....so we broke his heart especially....We HAD to take them to go do something else to have our family time, so we drove to twin falls to find something to do. We ended up going to NAZZ CAR. It had some pretty cool things for older kids and adults to do but they also had a bounce house for the kiddos. Riley had so much fun, and Madi didn't want anything to do with it. Silly Girl.

A Little About Riley - He had his preschool screening a week ago and they couldn't find anything that showed he'd need to go to preschool so he may be accepted as a peer. (Here preschool is only for children that is "developmentally delayed" i.e. speech problems, hearing...ect...they even consider children that can't quite pronounce certain letters developmentally delayed.) I really hope they accept him for a peer...so he can have the social aspect of things before he enters kindergarten. He misses the deadline by a month. I'm alright with that because he's going to be the oldest and further along mentally. He is so dang cute right now....apparently I'm "the best" right now. Here is our conversation.
R- Mom, can I play the Wii when we get home?
M- You have to make sure all your toys are picked up and your room is clean, then
you can.
R- Thanks mom, YOUR THE BEST!
I have to admit, that made me feel good and totally made my day. :)

Madisen's new thing....She will walk around all day holding a phone and this is what she says..... Hi TJ, what ya doing TJ, Bye TJ... It is so funny, and we have no idea where she picked it up....(Maybe from the call on Mother's Day) (I hope you read this TJ, even little madi hasn't forgotten you. :) ) She also thinks that she is 6 years old....some days it's six, and some it's four. She also has a new thing about stripping off her clothes when she comes in the house....or having no pants on outside She is growing up so fast and Bill and I just can't get over how fast it is happening. We find ourselves just watching her play around in the evenings just in awe at how cute and smart she is getting.

I want to share something that was on my sisters blog, and I couldnt help but post it to mine....for I too feel the same way but cannot express myself very well. My sister Andrea's words.

****************To My Mom and My Best Friend*************

I had a conversation with a friend yesterday about how our mothers made Motherhood look so easy. After having a few of my own, I wanted to tell my dear mother how much she means to me and the difference she has made in my life. So many times recently I have caught myself wishing that I lived closer to my mom:

*for her to rub my temples when I had a headache

*for her to be here and wake up with my suffering children in the middle of the night and sleep with them like when they're infants so I can get some sleep

*to be a little more forgiving to my children

*to give the comforting hug of an unconditional loving mother when it's needed so badly

*to make my husband laugh and feel like he is the best thing in this world

*to lend her listening ear to an ever complaining daughter

*to have the 1 person that you know is always on your side.

My mother isn't perfect, nor is any other mother in this world, but I'm telling you...she got something right. She has lived an interesting life and most definately not an easy one. I admire her strong will and desire to rise when times are hard, to pull through and look at the bright side of things, and trying very hard to not complain about the things that annoy her. I believe that looking on the bright side is one of the many great qualities I received from my mother...(along with the 2 other bad ones we talked about last week mom! haha). She doesn't have all the answers and doesn't claim to, but she will be there to help you reason out and make the best possible decision for you. I hear of lots of people say "I never want to be like my mom". I hope if I can become more of someone it would be more of her. She has set the perfect Christ like example of how I want to be for my kids and my grandkids (heaven forbid). I love you, my husband loves you and my children most definately love you. You mean everything to me and I could not imagine my life without you. Happy Mothers Day Mom...I truly love you and admire you and want you to know...that despite all those teenage years YOU MADE A DIFFERENCE IN MY LIFE!!!
